The 1st American Indian Owned Winery
Native Vines Winery is the first American Indian owned winery in the country; owned and operated by Darlene Gabbard. We are located in Lexington, North Carolina – homeland of the Keyauwee Tribe of Indians. The winery is located on 36 acres of rolling pasture and woodlands. Our winery is bordered by Highway 150 – the old Waxhaw Indian Trading Trail, and Indian Grave Creek, where it is legend accent tribes buried their dead in the banks of the stream. Arrowheads can still be found when working the soil.
Native Vines Winery offers a full line-up of Award Winning vitis vinifera along with many fruit blends. Our winemaker, Darlene Gabbard, has also created and produced a unique line of Green Tea Wines, another first for the Winery!
